Sheriff Wayne Dicky is a dedicated law enforcement professional with deep roots in Brazos Valley. Having served at the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office for an impressive 37 years, he has held various positions, showcasing his versatility and experience. Throughout his career, he has served as a detention officer, shift sergeant, facility lieutenant, patrol deputy, and jail administrator, each role contributing to his extensive knowledge of law enforcement and corrections.


As a graduate of Sam Houston State University, he earned a Master Degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management.


His contributions to the field of corrections have earned him recognition at the national level. He served as the Chairman of the American Jail Association’s Jail Manager Certification Commission, a testament to his commitment to ensuring the highest standards in jail management. Additionally, he earned certification as a Correctional Executive from the prestigious American Correctional Association in 2015, Sheriff Dicky graduated in the 23rd class of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) Leadership Command College and completed the 199th Session of the FBI National Academy. He is Past-President of the Texas Jail Association and of the American Jail Association.


Throughout his remarkable career, Sheriff Wayne Dicky has exemplified the qualities of a true law enforcement leader, making a lasting impact on the Brazos County community and beyond. His wealth of experience, combined with his commitment to leadership development, has contributed to the continued success of the Brazos County Sheriff's Office and our community's well-being.
