Event Description

First detected in Pennsylvania in 2007, emerald ash borer (EAB) is a tiny green invasive insect that has left a path of destruction across Allegheny County. EAB killed nearly all area ash trees in just a few years, some of which you can see throughout Frick Park.

Join Parks Conservancy volunteer naturalist Earl Dingus for this interactive lecture on the ecological and cultural impacts that EAB has caused since its introduction to our forests. Learn how to identify EAB and infested trees and what you can do to try to save trees in your yard or neighborhood.
