STOP PLAYING DEFENSE. TAKE THE OFFENSIVE! The Second Annual WLN Leadership Conference and Expo, themed "TAKE THE OFFENSIVE," promises to be the premiere activist event of 2014. The target audience includes activists, group leaders, and veterans wanting to get involved with the system they personally defended while serving our country. The conference is intended to give attendees the tools they need to "TAKE THE OFFENSIVE", and work to advance limited government principles where they live.
US SENATE CANDIDATE DEBATE. In addition to twenty breakout sessions organized along four instructional tracks, this conference features the first interactive US Senate candidate debate of the election cycle during lunch. Media personality Lars Larson will moderate and, in alphabetical order, Mark Callahan, Jason Conger, Jo Rae Perkins, and Monica Wehby have all confirmed their participation. Incumbent Jeff Merkley is also invited to participate. Conference attendees will be able to offer questions to be asked during the conference and will be involved in enforcing time limits. It will be fun and instructive! Note: The debate will be an educational excercise only; WLN itself, as a 501(c)3 organization, takes no position in support of or opposition to any candidate.
FANTASTIC TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. As mentioned above, there will be four tracks of instruction including: 1) How to Get Appointed to Office and Serve Effectively, 2) How to Help Your Grass Roots Organization Grow, 3) How to be An Effective Campaign Worker or Volunteer, and 4) How Military Veterans Can Participate Effectively. Five sessions will be held throughout the day, making a total of 20 classes. Attendees can mix and match courses they are interested in across instructional tracks. Each instructor is expert in the fields they are covering in the sessions. You can download an agenda by clicking HERE .
AWESOME MEXICAN BUFFET LUNCH. This is not rubber chicken, folks! The Mexican buffet is prepared by the Sheraton's award-winning Columbia Grill and includes pork carnitas, chicken mole, cheese enchiladas, black beans and Spanish rice, seasonal greens, dressings, cabbage slaw, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, chips, flour and corn tortillas, curros and chili fruit, iced tea, Starbucks coffee, and Tazo tea. During lunch, before the candidate debate, awards will be given to leading activists and organizations.
ADDITIONAL EVENTS. At 7PM on Friday, January 24, the night before the conference, there will be a reception/mixer held at the Sheraton (check the lobby for location). The event will include hot appetizers, live music, a no-host bar, and fellowship with people who support the ideals of limited government! After the conference, those who wish to can informally join WLN leaders in celebrating at the award-winning Columbia Grill and Bar for dinner (the dinner is not a part of the conference package and must be paid for separately).
LODGING AT A DISCOUNTED RATE. Those coming from a distance can purchase lodging at the Sheraton Airport Hotel, at a discounted group rate, directly from this site. But hurry! Rooms are limited! You can view the hotel's web page by clicking HERE .
DON'T MISS THIS EVENT. If you are an activist, this conference will give you the tools you need to be politically effective and successful during the 2014 election cycle. If you are a group leader, it will give you the tools you build your organization and make it more politically effective and relevant. If you are a veteran, you will learn how to engage in the system you helped to defend for the benefit of yourself, your family, and your nation. In short, it will give you what you need to stop playing defense and TAKE THE OFFENSIVE!
