Bring your family to enjoy the re-opening of the Frick Environmental Center, The From Slavery to Freedom garden, hiking trails, and park.
The From Slavery to Freedom Garden will feature plants researched by Heinz History Center curator Samuel W Black for the From Slavery to Freedom exhibition. Black’s study found various plants and flora that were used by escaping slaves for food, medicine, and shelter. These plants ranged from the Gulf of Mexico to Pennsylvania and the Atlantic coast to the Mississippi River. For more information please see the From Slavery to Freedom microsite.
