Event Description

Enjoy a free moonlit stroll through Frick Park led by a naturalist. This relaxing one-hour hike is designed to connect participants to the cycles in nature and the seasonal phenomena each month brings.

Registration is required for this event.

This hike is geared towards teens and adults. Dogs are not permitted to join this hike.

This hike is rain or shine. Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged.

The hike will meet at the Frick Environmental Center. We'll be relying on moonlight for this hike, so please leave your flashlights at home.

This free event has limited registration. Please register only if you are attending, and please cancel your registration or notify us if you cannot attend so that spaces can be made available for others. Thank you!

For event inquiries, please contact Stephen Bucklin at sbucklin@pittsburghparks.org. Our Full Moon Hike is a popular event and regularly fills up in advance. If you are unable to attend this one, we encourage you to register for the next one. They happen every month around the date of the full moon, and registration opens 3 weeks prior to the date of the hike.

The nearest bus stop is the 61A or 61B at Forbes and Dallas - From the bus stop to the Environmental Center involves an uphill and a stretch with no sidewalk.
