Event Description

Winter is often thought of as a season when the landscape is barren and drab, but pops of color are often the reward for the curious observer on a winter hike.

Join Naturalist Educator Stephen Bucklin on a hike to practice your observation skills while appreciating the colors of lichens and learning about lichen ecology and the diversity of species that call Frick Park home.

Registration is required. While this is an all-ages event, it is intended for teenagers and adults. We recommend teenagers attend with a friend, parent, or guardian.

This hike is rain or shine. Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged. Participants should expect to walk between one and two miles at a leisurely pace. Hike will meet at the Frick Environmental Center.

The nearest bus stop is the 61A or 61B at Forbes and Dallas - From the bus stop to the Environmental Center involves an uphill and a stretch with no sidewalk.
