Hike with a Naturalist: Fantastic Fungi
- Reserve
- Details
Throughout summer and into the fall, an incredible diversity of fungi make themselves visible where they previously were unseen, decorating the forest with beautiful colors. These mushrooms, the reproductive structures of the fungi who live secretively beneath the soil, give us a glimpse of the amazing community of organisms who both support and depend on the forest.
Join Naturalist Educator Stephen Bucklin for a hike through Frick Park to discover some of the many types of fungi that grow in our region and learn more about the fantastic fungi we share our planet with!
Registration is required. While this is an all-ages event, it is intended for teenagers and adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This hike is rain or shine. Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged. Hike will meet at the Frick Environmental Center.
