Event Description

Containerized trees are frequently planted in forest restoration sites and private landscapes due to their smaller size and lighter weight. However, success can be limited if proper techniques are not used during planting.

At this training, Urban EcoStewards will work with ISA Certified Arborists to learn these techniques while planting containerized trees on a forest restoration site in Polish Hill's West Penn Park.

We will work through drizzles or showers, though thunderstorms or heavy rain cancel the event.

Meet in Polish Hill's West Penn Park, 1/2 block down Brereton from the intersection of 30th and Brereton. Click here for directions. Parking is available at the West Penn Recreation Center.

Please wear boots or sturdy shoes and clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Tools, work gloves and all project materials will be provided.
