Event Description

Winter's a great time of year to start learning about birds.

While the forest is sleeping, it's still alive with the fluttering and chirping of birds. Most trees and bushes have lost their leaves, so there are few places for them to take shelter or hide from predators - a challenge for birds but an advantage for birdwatchers!

Join our naturalist educators on a hike to learn the basics of bird identification, get to know our winter resident and visiting birds, and better understand how these animals survive the challenging conditions of winter.

Bring binoculars if you have them. We have a limited number we can provide to those who don't.

Registration is required for this event.

This is an all-ages event. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

This hike is rain or shine. Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged.

Hike will meet at the Frick Environmental Center and take about an hour and a half.
